The Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George is a chivalric religious order of collation,
most recently linked to the Bourbon-Two Sicilies family.
Its origins are traditionally traced back to the Emperor Constantine, from whom it would have been constituted
after the victory against Maxentius in the battle of Ponte Milvio, success achieved thanks to divine favor
manifested with the apparition in heaven of the cross accompanied by the inscription “In hoc signo vinces”.
It is therefore considered the oldest chivalric order in Christianity, as well as the most ancient of all.
The Order proposes the glorification of the cross, the propagation of the Catholic faith and the defense of the Roman apostolic Church,
which is closely related. Indeed, a necessary condition for becoming members of the Order is
profess the Roman Catholic Apostolic Religion.
Furthermore, the Order also proposes to give its greatest contribution of action and activity to the two great works
eminently social of hospital care and charity.
