The 9th "Col Moschin" parachute assault regiment is the Italian Army Special Forces unit.

The "Col Moschin" Regiment is part of the "Folgore" Paratroopers Brigade and holds the flag of the 10th Arditi Regiment in custody,

from which he inherited the year of constitution (1918) and the badges (black flames), re-adopted in 2006.

Since 1995, as part of the restructuring of the Italian Army, it has passed from battalion to regiment.

The central base of the Regiment is in Livorno at the "Vannucci" barracks. There is also a training center,

called the Raiders Training Base (BAI) in Pisa, located in the San Rossore regional park (former presidential estate)

near the mouth of the Arno River, which is used for the regiment's amphibious and underwater activities.

The training also takes place through various exercises in different parts of the world, from Antarctica to America,

thus making these elite fighters capable of operating in any scenario.

The 9th Col Moschin, being part of the Italian Special Forces units, is under the command of the CO.F.S. (Joint Forces Command for Special Forces Operations)
