The cavalry is a modern weapon of the Italian Army today completely mechanized.

Since 1 July 1999 this weapon also includes the regiments of the "tank" specialty which since September 1927

it was framed in the infantry weapon and that it was born and developed.

These regiments, derived from the tank regiment formed on 1 October 1927, were

the architects of the mechanization of the Italian Army. They also contributed to the transition from the horse

to the car of the most ancient cavalry regiments
