Description

Bersaglieri beret with lined interior, 8 x 8 cm crimson patch, 2 cm gross grain and blue end bands

The general use of the Basque began in the Italian Army around the 1960s.

The Bersaglieri, however, did not initially have this headdress, using instead, when the feathered hat was not required,

the fez (troop personnel) or the khaki bag or the rigid cap (non-commissioned officers and officers).

Only in the early 1970s, with the adoption of the new berets with frieze on the left, to non-commissioned officers and Bersaglieri officers

the black beret was assigned, typical of the armored troops, while the troop personnel kept the fez.

Starting from the 1990s, the Basque was also extended to rank-ups in permanent service.

On 19 June 2011 in Turin, on the occasion of the 59th national gathering of the bersaglieri,

a new beret was presented, clearly inspired by that of the British infantry: black,

it had a crimson undercoat in correspondence of the frieze, a black duvet on the left side, while the ribbon was blue
